1. Unoka consults the Oracle to find out why he can not yield any crops. The Oracle tells him that his yield is weak because he is lazy.
ReplyDelete2. The Week of Peace is to honor Ani, the Earth Goddess so they will have another good harvest. Okonkwo breaks the week of peace by beating his second wife because she didn't have supper ready when he desired it.
3. Nwoye is Okonkwo's biological eldest son who is treated rather poorly by Okonkwo. Their relationship is very strained and unemotional. Okonkwo refuses to show any type of kindness towards his son because he fears he will be seen as weak. This affects nwoye because now he is more drawn to his mother tendencies than being violent and harsh.
4. Okonkwo's difficulty was due to the drought that happened to his village while he was starting his farm. The sun scorched his plants and kept him from yielding any crops.his dad didn't have a farm since he was to poor to afford one so he didn't inherit a farm from his father. He had to work extra hard to have his own farm and extremely hard to preserve his farm from natural disasters such as droughts.

ReplyDelete1. He went to ask Agbala why he was always having a bad harvest. The Oracle tells him that he is always trying to please the gods and have offended them. He would be good or bad according to the strength of his arm.
2. The week of peace is when no work was done. He breaks it by hitting his third wife and the clan makes him bring to the shrine one she goat, one hen, a length of cloth and a hundred cowries.
3. Nwoye is Okonkwo's first son. Okonkwo treats him badly and the relationship between Nwoye and Ikemefuna is that they have a brotherly bond.
4. Okonkwo do not inherit a farm like most young men would have inherited from their father. It was due to nature because the year he planted nothing grew. It was blazing hot then it was too wet. The weather was unsuitable for growing.
